About Toby

Toby Arsalan is a German-Pakistani comedian based in Berlin. Toby has toured three continents, featured on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and opened for comedy legends like Godfrey, Todd Barry, Tom Rhodes and Judah Friedlander. Since 2020, he has been writing sketches and short films for Datteltäter, a German comedy YouTube channel with over 500k subscribers.

Toby has written for major German media brands like funk, ZDF, Cosmo, media personalities like Tahsim Durgun and NGOs like the Neue Deutsche Medienmacher.

He has performed corporate gigs for a wide range of clients, from industry giants like Tesla and startups like Kayak, all the way to NGOs such as the German Muslim Centre Berlin (Deutsches Muslimisches Zentrum Berlin) and the refugee fundraiser concert Helping Hands Allstars. 

For the past four years, Toby has been hosting the benbi (Berliner Entwicklungspolitisches Bildungsprogramm) a workshop week where students of different ages learn about injustice, activism and global interdependencies.

You can currently see Toby at English Comedy at the Harp a weekly comedy show on Tuesdays at The Harp Irish Pub in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
